Error codeF8E2
ApplianceDishwasher
In the technical manual F8E2 is an inlet water code for an electrical problem at the fill valve. Maytag’s own help article adds two things an owner can do, and a third that only a technician should.
Owner steps
Take out the drip tray and look at the inlet valve connection. Nothing there should be leaking.
Power cycle the dishwasher. That means disconnecting it from power for 30 seconds: pull the plug, or switch the breaker off if the unit is hard wired.
Watch whether the code comes back. If it does, schedule a technician visit.
Keep clear of the wiring
Cut power at the outlet or breaker before you look anywhere near the valve, and do not take electrical parts apart. The electrical side is the technician’s work.

F8 E2 is the product-help wording, a fill valve electric error.
Should F8E2 return after the 30-second reset, call (415) 649-2156 and ask for a visit through Maytag dishwasher repair. Technicians work across the Bay Area, and they will want the code, the model number and what you saw at the drip tray.
Model compatibility: Maytag reuses codes across series and model years, so F8E2 may mean something different on another appliance or generation. Confirm this against your model’s documentation and record your full model number before acting.
