Range unable to reach the router
FC E1 is what a Wi-Fi-equipped Maytag range displays when joining your wireless router fails. The help article lists five reasons: a connection time out, a weak signal, a dead router, the range’s Wi-Fi Module, and wiring tied to that module.
Reset the range at the breaker
- Go to the breaker box and shut off the range’s breaker(s) for 60 seconds.
- Turn them on again.
- Keep looking at the range for a minute to see if the code has gone.
- Confirm normal operation.
Then work on the network
The fault is described as no link between the range’s Wi-Fi Module and the wireless router, so the router needs a reset as well. Next, learn whether any other Wi-Fi device at home works properly. When your smart phone or tablet does, carry it to the range and test there. If it keeps working, unplug the router for two minutes and plug it in again; after that cut the range’s power for two minutes and restore it.
Weak signal
Missing bars on your phone or tablet at the range indicate a poor signal. The listed remedies are:
- relocate the router within the home;
- fit a compatible signal extender;
- contact your Internet Service Provider.

Maytag range repair in San Francisco
When FC E1 outlasts the resets and router work, the next step is a technician visit. Call (415) 649-2156 from San Francisco or anywhere in the Bay Area, and give the model number, the exact code and what you changed on the router side. More detail is on the Maytag range repair page.
Model compatibility: Maytag reuses codes across series and model years, so FC E1 may mean something different on another appliance or generation. Confirm this against your model’s documentation and record your full model number before acting.
