FC E3 in one line
The over-the-range Maytag microwave was unable to connect to your router. Maytag gives these as possible sources: time out, poor signal, router failure, the microwave’s Wi-Fi module, and wiring.
Fixes in sequence
Microwave. Power it down at the breaker for a minute and power it up again. Look at it for one more minute. If FC E3 stays gone, verify operation.
Router. If the code is back, reset your wireless router.
Smart device. Hold a phone or tablet at the microwave’s location. When it works properly, cut the router’s power for two minutes and restore it, then do the same for the microwave.
If bars are missing
Choose between a new router location in the home, a compatible extender, or a conversation with your Internet Service Provider.
No change
The next move is a technician visit.
