Maytag Washer F0 E2 Error Code

VERIFIED

Error code F0 E2
Appliance Washer

Excess suds in the basket are what F0 E2 reports on Maytag washers. On a front load model the washer has detected excessive suds. On a top load model suds are keeping the basket from reaching speed, or the pressure sensor sees the suds level rising. Either way, the load may not be fully rinsed and water may not be fully removed.

What causes the suds

  • Detergent that is not HE, or more than the recommended amount, makes excess suds. The effects include reduced spin speed, very wet loads and extra rinses that lengthen the cycle.
  • On top load washers, “no splash” or “easy-pour” chlorine bleach contains a thickening agent that can create excess suds.

Front load washers

An automatic suds reduction routine runs to remove most of the excess, so let the washer keep going. The display may show “Sud” or “Sd”:

  • With the Rinse status light on, the suds are being removed. Let the cycle continue.
  • With the Cycle Complete light on, too many suds were detected and the load may not be thoroughly rinsed. A Rinse/Spin cycle is worth selecting.

If a bulk dispenser is enabled, do not put extra detergent in with the load. Check which concentration level it is set to as well.

Top load washers

  1. Use only HE detergent, in the manufacturer’s recommended amount.
  2. Select a Rinse/Spin cycle to give the load further rinsing.
  3. Before the next load, run the washer empty with regular liquid bleach, or use a washer cleaning product, to clear thickened bleach.
