On a front load Maytag, F6 E3 is a communication error: the ACU cannot hear the MCU. On a top load Maytag, it is a washer reboot alert that points to the appliance control unit, the user interface, or the wiring that connects them.
Try the reset
Maytag reasons that resetting the washer control can solve a problem the same way restarting a computer does.
Disconnect the washer from its power source and wait 5 minutes.
If there is a plug, unplug it for that time and push it back in afterwards.
F6 E1 is the other communication error, between the HMI and the ACU.
F7 E2 is a drive failure in the motor or ACU hardware.
